SX70 ALPHA

A polaroid is more than just a snapshot, It's a unique moment captured on one of the most precious films that exists. Polaroid shooters have a wide range of cameras to pick from but the most beloved camera is the Polaroid SX70. In my eyes the most unique and good looking camera that has ever been made. The impossible project allowed me to step into the world of polaroid a year ago with a SX70 that I demolished on the second day. Only to replace the old smelly leather skin for some fancy Teak veneer and to clean the whole body. Without knowing was creating the most beautiful SX70 that I had ever seen and hold in my hands.

I really enjoy making rare and unique items and that's why I recently purchased this SX70 Alpha. The camera was build in the same year as my Teak SX70 but this one has a focus scale on the lens. The color of teak is almost equal to cognac and the original leather of the SX70, the reason why I choose to use Wenge veneer this time.  It's incredibly hard to cut by hand when you compare it to other types of wood but the looks are worth all the effort that it takes. It took me nearly 4 hours to strip and re-apply the skin on the SX70 and I personally think that it looks as good as the Teak SX70.
